You can easily return
to the Veluwe again and again,
because there is always something new to discover. That's
what we found and are still finding today. That's why we
came up with the idea in 2003 to build a dedicated
bed & breakfast unit. To build
something where we would like to stay ourselves while on
holiday. A place which combines the comfort of a decent
hotel room and the privacy of a bungalow in quiet holiday
park.
That was the brief we gave our architect,
Henk van der Veen from Delft.
The setting was there: located in a large, quiet and
secluded forest. Henk came up with an affordable design,
which was original and gave all the comfort we were looking
for. The choice of material was easy: chalk sandstone. The
exterior cladding is quite unique though: Plato wood. This
is pine, enriched without the use of chemicals, a Dutch
invention that comes from Arnhem. The roof covering is made
from one piece of re-enforced corrugated sheet. The builders,
under supervison of Hans van Brenk
from Leersum, had a challenging time realising the design,
but the result was worth all the effort.
Spring 2004, de Vogelvlucht
opened for business and the feedback from customers so far
has been very positive. We already have had repeat business
from Dutch and Belgian customers.
So, be surprised and come and see it with your own eyes. Ask
for available dates and book early.
